Sawangan, Depok (November 24, 2024) — The 8th Biology Education Expo, organized by the Biology Education Student Association of UIN Jakarta, officially closed today at the 2nd-floor auditorium of the PPG Building, FITK UIN Jakarta, Sawangan. This event marked the culmination of a series of competitions that started on August 5, 2024, involving various prestigious competitions such as the Scientific Paper Competition (LKTI) for high school and university students, the Biology Quick and Accurate Competition (LCTB) for high schools, and the High School Laboratory Competition.

The closing ceremony was opened by Eva Fadilah, M.Pd., Secretary of the Biology Education Study Program, and closed by Yuke Mardiati, S.Si., M.Si., Advisor of the Biology Education Student Association. The event was held both in-person and online, with the online portion dedicated to the finalists of the university-level LKTI.

Finalists from various regions in Indonesia showcased their enthusiasm and high competence in the field of biology. The event was packed with exciting activities, starting with the announcement of the winners, followed by musical performances from the Biology Education Study Program students, and concluded with a stand-up comedy performance by Alma Silviani that successfully brought laughter to the audience.

In the high school level LKTI competition, SMA Al-Maahira IIBS Malang won first place, followed by SMAN Jogoroto in second place, and MA Pembangunan Syarif Hidayatullah in third place. The first honorable mention was awarded to SMAN 1 Dramaga, while SMAN 1 Tegaldlimo secured the second honorable mention. The awards were presented by Eva Fadillah, M.Pd.

For the High School Laboratory Competition, MAN 7 Jakarta emerged as the first winner, followed by MA Pembangunan Syarif Hidayatullah in second place, and SMA An Najah in third place. The first honorable mention was won by SMA Islam Terpadu Misykat Al-Anwar, while MAN 22 Jakarta won the second honorable mention. The awards were presented by Yuke Mardiati, M.Pd.

In the Biology Quick and Accurate Competition (LCTB) for high schools, Team 1 of MAN 13 Jakarta successfully won first place, followed by SMA Kesatuan Bangsa in second place, and SMA Ibnu Hajar Boarding School in third place. The first honorable mention was won by Team 2 of MAN 13 Jakarta. The awards were presented by Muhammad Akmal, the Executive Committee Chair of the 8th Biology Education Expo.

The announcement of the university-level LKTI winners was conducted online, with Team 1 of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang as the first winner, followed by Universitas Brawijaya in second place, and Team 2 of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang in third place.

The closing ceremony not only served as a moment to award the winners but also as an appreciation for all participants and committee members who have worked hard throughout the event. All activities were broadcast live on the YouTube channel of the Biology Education Student Association of UIN JKT, so it could be watched by a wider audience.
